Bilateral

Relations

Omani-Autrian relations

Perfectly integrated regionally and internationally, far away from all isolationism temptation, as the region currently faces a number of political and economic challenges, the Sultanate of Oman is open to the modern world while at the same time preserving a strong sense of tradition and culture.

This keen sense of tradition enables our Sultanate to seize for economic opportunities and meet the challenges of globalization, connecting itself with the rest of the world in accordance with the Omani spirit, independent, peaceful and tolerant.

Since the 18th December 1973 , the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Austria and the Sultanate of Oman sought opportunities to develop an outstanding bilateral relationship, which is strong and historical and has always been free of any conflict, full of mutual respect and tolerance.

Thanks to the presence of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber Office in Muscat, the two countries take advantage of regional integration and Economic Partnership Agreement to improve economic cooperation and attract new spheres for investment.

Diplomatic Mission

The opening of the Diplomatic Mission of the Sultanate of Oman in Austria on the 1st April 1974 has enabled to reinforce the bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Austria, including various fields such as educational co-operation, tourism affairs and business opportunities.

The existing bilateral co-operation, besides touching on a number of developments and regional and international issues of common concern, share common ideals, both believing in peace and security and tolerance as ways of developing prosperous and generous societies.
